This circular Conference Table, created from maple, lacewood and padouk, was designed for the main boardroom of an American hotel chain. The grounded elemental quality of the base serves as counterpoint to the round table top, creating an ambiance both intimate and inviting.

This serving table, or sideboard, was created to accompany the conference table above. Its lightness of style evokes an atmosphere of elegance and refinement.

Commissioned by a corporate executive, this eight-foot-long desk is only one piece of an entire office designed and crafted by Kimchi in similar style. It is sculpted in bubinga with maple accenting.

This stunning cabinet in black cherry and maple was created as a showpiece and has been exhibited in shows and galleries around the United States. It never fails to draw in passers-by who can't resist caressing the smooth, sculpted forms that seem to be constantly flowing.

Sometimes, Kimchi readily admits, it is the client who induces him to go the extra mile. In this fantasy bedroom vanity and chair ensemble the client wanted to surprise his wife with something really over the top. The striking combination of the mapa burl juxtaposed with the darker mahogany serves as the canvas for this magically swirling set.

This triangular monolith stands at almost eight feet tall in the entrance lobby of a corporate building. The frame on each of its three sides is designed to house information concerning the building and its story. The piece is crafted in mahogany with wenge accents.

As can readily be seen, Kimchi never ceases to be inspired by the geometry of the Far East. In this bubinga serving table with wenge and curly maple accents, the solidity of the table accentuates the floating top. "I continue to be fascinated by the Yin and Yang of the ethereal and the substantial."

While designing and crafting this functional sculpture, Kimchi was guided by the desire to create in abstract the concept of flight. The tips of the form protrude through the glass top, at once providing soft contiguous lines and a mechanism for securing the 3/4 inch thick glass to the base.

"I picked out this pair of bookmatched figured maple boards at the mill," recounts Kimchi, "and saved them for almost five years until I found just the right use for them."

Architectural solidity and grandeur distinguish this dining room ensemble. The client needed a table to seat fourteen on a regular basis. Ample storage and serving room was provided as well.
